Abstract

Research earthquake hypocenter relocation in Special Region of Yogyakarta has done by double difference method using hypoDD program to relocate earthquke hypocenter and study the tectonic structure in research area. This research using 23 earthquake data that occured in Yogyakarta at 2019, and used as reference model of wave velocity Wegner and Ak135. Double difference method using travel time of erathquake pairs to the station. The earthquake which were successfully relocated was about 23 data using 4 earthquake recording stations. The relocation result hypocenter position that is better marked by residual travel time after relocation more approach to zero, after relocation there are 87 residuals more approach to zero. The result of the earthquake relocation in the land area of Gunungkidul are at shallow depths by faults and are estimated in the Gamping Wungkal Formation, in the land area around Mount Merapi is estimated by volcano tectonic earthqukes. The result of relocation in the sea area at a deep depth by a subduction line, and at a shallow depth it is by an active fault under the sea. Earthquke shifts after relocation are randomly distributed in all direction at a distance of less than 20 km with a dominant direction to the northeast and northwest.
