Abstract

The objective of this study is to analyze the comparison of profit growth and stock trading activity before and after the merger in companies listed on the Indonesian Sharia Stock Index (ISSI) for the 2016-2020 period. The variables used are profit growth, stock trading frequency, stock trading volume and stock trading value. The research sample is 13 companies that have merged and registered at ISSI for the 2016-2020 period which were collected using the purposive sampling method. Hypothesis analysis technique using paired sample t-test with SPSS. The results showed that profit growth and stock trading frequency experienced a significant increase between before and after the merger, while stock trading volume and stock trading value did not increase significantly. The absence of this increase is due to the weakening of the rupiah exchange rate and the Indonesia Composite Index that has decreased.
