Abstract

Islamic Religious Counselors have a great influence on the entry of new innovations regarding the Covid-19 pandemic and vaccines in the community, especially in Sleman district, Yogyakarta Special Region. Islamically packaged counseling, and the figure of an Islamic Religious Counselor who is considered a respected figure, makes the Sleman community easy to accept and understand new information about the Covid-19 pandemic and vaccines. This however triggers the community to obey health protocols and are willing to do vaccinations that have been promoted by the Indonesian Government. By using the Da'wah theory combined with the Health Communication theory and the Diffusion of Innovation, the researchers tried to elaborate on the influence of Islamic religious counseling activities on the diffusion of the Covid-19 pandemic message innovation and vaccines by the community of Sleman district. The results showed that, 1) Da’wah counseling activities are carried out through three stages, namely program preparation, program implementation, and evaluation and reporting, 2) The Sleman community’s level of adoption of the towards health protocols and vaccines is quite high and good. This can be seen from the enthusiasm and level of compliance of the Sleman community with health protocols and vaccines, 3) Message and Channel Variables have a positive influence on the Diffusion of Covid-19 and Vaccine Pandemic Message Innovations by contributing their respective roles of 14.8% and 28.4%. While the Method variable is not proven to have an effect on the Diffusion of the Covid-19 Pandemic Message Innovation and Vaccines. Acceptance of Innovation is not significant as a moderator between Messages and Diffusion of Covid-19 Pandemic Messages and Vaccines, but it is proven to be significant for the relationship between Channels and Diffusion of Covid-19 and Vaccine Pandemic Messages Innovations, which is 28.4% and the relationship between Methods and Diffusion of Messages Innovations Covid-19 Pandemic and Vaccines, by 33.5%.
