Abstract
The combination of the internet and adolescent sexuality brings worrying consequences for the development of adolescents in the digital era. Easily accessible sexual material at low cost and anonymous internet characteristics, puts adolescent at pathological cybersex risk. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-control and peer interaction with cybersex behavior in adolescents in the city of Yogyakarta. The subjects of this study were 113 adolescents (47 boys, 66 girls) aged 12 to 19 years. Collecting data using cybersex behavior scale (30 items, = 0.98), self-control scale (18 items, = 0.952), and peer interaction scale (19 items, = 0.948). Data analysis using multivariate regression. The results of this study found a significant relationship between self-control and peer interaction with cybersex behavior in adolescents in Yogyakarta, evidenced by a significance value of 0.000. Self-control has a negative and significant relationship with cybersex behavior, as evidenced by a significance value of 0,000 and a beta coefficient value of -0,673. Peer interaction has a positive and significant relationship with cybersex behavior, as evidenced by a significance value of 0.000 and a beta coefficient value of 0.419. The higher the self-control, the lower the cybersex behavior, the higher the peer interaction, the higher the cybersex behavior. The proportion of self-control and peer interaction in explaining cybersex behavior is 44,2%. The proportion of self-control in explaining cybersex behavior is 41.8%. Meanwhile, the proportion of peer interaction in explaining cybersex behavior is 21.9%.
