Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between emotional socialization and parent-adolescent attachment toward emotion regulation in adolescents.The subjects in this study were 157 teenagers aged 18-21 years who live in the Special Region of Yogyakarta.This type of research is quantitative using accidental sampling as a sampling technique.The measuring instrument which is used to collect data is the Emotional Socialization Scale which has an alpha coefficient of 0.869,Attachment Scale which has an alpha coefficient of 0.775,and the Emotion Regulation Scale which has an alpha coefficient of 0.839.The collected data were analyzed using multiple regression techniques.The results of this study indicate that analysis using multiple regression has been carried out to determine the effect of emotional socialization and parent-adolescent attachment on emotion regulation in late adolescents in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The regression model used is significant, F (2.34) = 31.751, p <0.05. It is known that emotional socialization and parent-adolescent attachment affect emotion regulation in adolescents by 28.3% (Adjust R2 = 0.283). Emotional socialization is known to have a significant positive relationship with emotion regulation with t = 2.074 and p = 0.00. In addition, attachment is also known to have a significant positive relationship with emotion regulation with t = 6.095 and p = 0.04. Emotion regulation can be predicted based on parental emotional socialization and parent-adolescent attachment using the regression formula y = 0.146.X1 + 0.528.X2 + 21.945
