Abstract

This research was conducted at SMA N 9 Yogyakarta with research subjects PAI teachers and students at SMA N 9 Yogyaakrta. While the object of this research is the strategy of PAI teachers in instilling multicultural values in students. Therefore, this study aims to determine the strategies used by PAI teachers in instilling multicultural values in students. This type of research is a qualitative field research. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and document studies. While the data analysis technique used is the theory of Milles and Hubberman, namely data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The data validity technique used in this study is source triangulation. The results of the study show that: 1) SMA 9 Yogyakarta maintains a plurality and heterogeneous school environment by instilling multicultural values. The multicultural values taught include the value of tolerance, the value of togetherness, the value of democracy, and others. 2) PAI SMA 9 teachers use different strategies and approaches in teaching multicultural values to students, but there are also similarities in the strategies applied. Some of the strategies that are often used are Direct Learning Strategies, Intractive Learning Strategies, Market Place Strategies. On certain occasions the teacher also combines several strategies in one learning meeting.
