Abstract
Self-help skills are an important part of early childhood development. This study aims to determine the forms of collaboration between teachers and parents in developing self-help skills in children at KB Averroes Bantul, as well as to identify supporting and inhibiting factors in this collaborative process. Effective collaboration between teachers and parents is crucial in developing basic early childhood skills such as self-feeding, dressing independently, maintaining hygiene, and using the toilet independently. The benefits of this study are expected to provide developments in early childhood education and serve as a guide for teachers, parents, and schools in developing their active roles in fostering children's independence. The research method used was a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The study was conducted at KB Averroes Bantul from February to March 2025. The research subjects consisted of one class teacher and three parents of students. Data collection techniques were observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Meanwhile, data validity was tested using triangulation credibility testing. The results of the study indicate that the collaboration included sharing responsibilities for developing self-help skills, implementing parenting activities, parenting, and Volunteering. Supporting factors for collaboration included parental awareness, school support, and effective communication. Inhibiting factors included time constraints, differing perspectives between teachers and parents, and the child's internal and family environment. This study emphasizes the importance of collaboration between teachers and parents in developing self-help skills from an early age.
