Abstract

Every time humans have basic needs that must be met, one of which is the need for food. Rice is the staple food of Indonesian people. So that rice also acts as a measure of Indonesia's food security. Where a country's strength can be based on managing professionally managed food self-sufficiency, energy security, and military security. IR 64 rice is one of the varieties favored by farmers in Indonesia because of its various advantages. This research explains how the influence of variable prices for substitute goods, per capita income, total population, total rice production, and the price of IR 64 Milled Dry Grain on IR 64 Rice Prices in West Java. This research uses annual data of 17 districts in West Java with a 2012-2018 time period. Methodologically this research was conducted with quantitative methods using secondary data sourced from BPS and the West Java Agriculture Office. The analytical tool used in this research is panel data regression with the best model approach namely Fixed Effect Model (FEM). Based on the results of this research the independent variables together (simultaneously) affect the dependent variable. While individually each independent variable (partial) the total population does not have a significant positive effect on IR 64 rice prices and the other four variables namely cassava prices, per capita income, total rice production, and IR 64 Milled Dry Grain prices partially significantly influence prices IR 64 rice.
