Abstract

This research is related to the competency of school principals and teaching staff and education staff. Most of the principals have not yet carried out their duties in accordance with the competencies required by the principal. Whereas on the other hand, teaching staff and education staff in carrying out their duties still depend on the pattern of planning, organizing, leadership, and supervision of the school principal. This makes an educator and educational staff have not been able to provide an assessment of him based on his abilities. This study aims to determine the effect of principals' managerial competence and supervision of principals on self-supervision teacherin MI Ma'arif Sambego. This research uses a quantitative approach whose data is taken from the field (field research). Data collected through questionnaires, interviews and documentation. The population used in this study were all teachers in MI Ma'arif Sambego Sleman Yogyakarta, amounting to 25 people. The results of this study indicate that (1) the Principal has good managerial competence and is able to plan, organize, and provide guidance to the teaching staff and education staff. The headmaster has given good support to the teacher especially to be able to improve the quality of self and the quality of the learning process. So that every teacher has the ability and desire to improve the quality of self and quality in the learning process so that the vision and mission of an institution can be achieved. (2) Principal's managerial competence influences self-supervision teacherin MI Ma'arif Sambego Sleman Yogyakarta. This is based on the results of research that shows the value of t arithmetic of 0.012 or less than 0.05. This means that the better the application of principals' managerial competencies, the higher x │ TESIS Program Magister (S2) UIN Sunan Kalijaga the teacher's desire to improve self-quality. (3) Principal supervision competence has a high influence on self-supervision teacherin MI Ma'arif Sambego Sleman Yogyakarta. This is evidenced by the results of research that shows the value of t arithmetic of 0.010 <0.05. This means that the better the principal's assessment of the teacher will further increase the teacher's desire to improve the quality of self. (4) Managerial competence and supervision of school principals together (simultaneously) affect the self supervision teacher'sin MI Ma'arif Sambego Sleman Yogyakarta. That is, the better the competency of the two principals will further foster a teacher's self-confidence to improve their quality both academically and in class
