Abstract

Hidden curriculum is unwritten or unintended lessons and perspective that students learn in school. Hidden curriculum teriotically is quiet rasional to development the student‟s social attitudes. Take advantage of the existence of hidden curriculum in school optimaly will help to gain the objectives of Islamic Education in building a good carracter os students. Therefore, the purpose of the current study is to acknowledge and explain the actualization of the Hidden Curriculum in Islamic Education Course in establishing social attitude for students of SMP 9 Negeri Yogyakarta. The current study is a qualitative research which employed a descriptive analytics method. Purposive sampling technique was employed to determine the research subjects. Data was obtained throught interview, observations and documentation method. Data was then validated through source and thechnique triangulation and analyzed which the stages was reduction, conclusion drawing, and data verification. The results of the study revealed that: 1) The hidden curriculum in Islamic Education Course that actualized through organization system is conducted by applying equality principle in grouping of students that was seen from each ability, applying teaching team to provide the best academic service, and giving attention to attitude competency for getting higher grade. 2) The hidden curriculum that actualized through social system is conducted by building a harmonious social relationship through the principal equality and fraternities, being non-discriminative towards people and building students‟ confidence by posotioning as student‟s parents and peers, make a fun learning, give a wisely respond for bad student‟s behavior, and not taking sides and criticize the student‟s opinions by giving them chances to convey their ideas. 3) The hidden curriculum that actualized through cultural system is conducted through establishing a positive learning culture by paying attention to norms, principles, and existing traditions, presenting good behaviors, and doing refractions. 4) The implementation of hidden curriculum in Islamic Education Course have given impacts on the establishment of social attitude of the students of SMP Negeri 9 Yogyakarta. These impacts could be perceived from the way the students acted such as respecting each others, showing non-discriminative behavior in making friends, honest, discipline, responsible, respecting other people‟s opinions, helping each other, showing empathy towards friends in need
