Abstract

The fishing community is a community that lives, grows, and develops in the coastal area, which is a transitional area between land and sea areas. They should be able to improve their welfare as well as fishing communities. Fishery resources can potentially be utilized to improve the standard of living and welfare of fishermen, but in reality, there are still quite a number of fishermen who have not been able to increase their catches so that the income level of fishermen does not increase. The fishing community is also one of the poorest groups of people with all the attributes that describe their backwardness when viewed from the inability to meet their daily needs, be it clothing, food, or board needs, so it is often found that fishing communities lack nutrition, education, and health which have an impact on productivity. fishermen are low which results in low income, so the level of welfare is also low. The purpose of this analysis is to determine the effect of working capital factors, work experience, and length of time working on fishermen's income. Sources of data derived from primary data obtained by distributing questionnaires to respondents and secondary data obtained from information from agencies. This study uses the Ordinary Least Square method to analyze descriptively the variables of working capital, work experience, and length of work (Independent) and the income of fishermen in Muarareja village (Dependent) partially and simultaneously for the OLS method using SPSS 16. The is results showed that the working capital variable (X1) and the variable length of time worked (X3) had a significant effect on fishermen's income, but the work experience variable (X2) had no significant effect, and all independent variables, both working capital (X1), work experience (X2), and the length of time working (X3) have a significant effect on the income of fishermen simultaneously on the income of fishermen in Muarareja Village, Tegal City. Based on this research, the government should participate in contributing to better assistance so that fishermen can be facilitated in their fishing activities, in the form of periodic notifications from the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency, so that fishermen understand when they can go to sea. And for fishermen who have a lot of experience in going to sea, it is better if the fisherman has to share his fishing knowledge and procedures for surviving all unfavorable conditions on the high seas. which is in good condition.
