Abstract
Indonesia is a country with a Muslim majority population, Muslims are burdened with the obligation to pay zakat. The zakat is distributed to those who are entitled to receive it with the aim that their economic conditions will be better and the level of poverty can be reduced. This study aims to determine the long-term relationship between poverty, HDI, and zakat on economic growth. The relationship between the variables of poverty level, HDI, and zakat on economic growth will be measured using the VECM Panel estimation method. This test was conducted to determine the long-term relationship between each independent variable to the dependent variable. The objects in this study are poverty levels, HDI, zakat receipts, and economic growth from 12 provinces in Indonesia. The data used in this study is annual data from 2009 to 2019. From the results of the analysis using the VECM Panel estimation method, the poverty rate and HDI have a positive and significant influence on economic growth. While zakat has a negative and insignificant effect on economic growth.
