Abstract

It is undeniable, there were many communities gave negative stigma and discriminate against people with visual impairments. This worsens the mental state of the blind. There were many blind people who were ashamed of their situation. This study was aim to find out how the image of gratitude for blind students at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta in the perspective of Islamic Psychology. The method in this research was qualitative with a phenomenological approach. Informants in this study were three blind students of UIN Sunan Kalijaga. The results of this study indicate that all informants in this study are very accepting and grateful for their situation as blind people. There were findings in this study that the three informants in this study acknowledged that Allah is the giver of all blessings. The three informants said that all the blessings received were gifts from God, even if they were dislike things, therefore it is necessary to be grateful. Informants in this study also admitted that positive emotions dominate in their lives. The behavior given by the surrounding environment is very positive.
