Abstract
This research aims to describe the pattern of family communication which is represented through the Keluarga Cemara Film. The focus of this research is the representation of family communication patterns contained in the Keluarga Cemara Film which has a duration of 110 minutes. The theory used in this research is Fitzpatrick's theory of family communication patterns. This research uses a descriptive communication research method with a qualitative approach. The data analysis technique used is Charles Sanders Pierce's semiotic analysis. Pierce uses a triangle of meaning or triadic in his analysis process, namely sign/representament, object, and interpretant. Researchers conducted data analysis by identifying signs that interpreted the existence of family communication patterns based on conformity orientation and conversation orientation. The results of this research indicate that the Keluarga Cemara Film represents a consensual family communication pattern. This is evidenced by the identification of signs that contain elements of conformity orientation and conversation orientation applied by the Abah family in daily life.
