Abstract

Revenge porn is characterized by someone sharing and distributing a photo or video that shows a person's body in a naked state with the intention of taking revenge or on the basis of anger that is not conveyed to the intended victim. Victims of revenge porn in Yogyakarta who feel the impact of the spread of immoral content by perpetrators use legal channels to ensnare the perpetrators of spreading the immoral content. Even though they have been found guilty through the courts and imposed sanctions on the accused, the victims of revenge porn , who are generally women, feel that they have not received justice and legal protection. So there is a need for legal assistance and protection for the victims of revenge porn. The purpose of this research is to find out the impact suffered by the victims of revenge porn in Yogyakarta and to find out, describe and analyze the forms of legal protection and its provision to the victims of revenge porn in Yogyakarta. This study uses a descriptive analytical research type, which is a research by describing the problem through the process of collecting data, compiling and analyzing it. The research approach used is empirical law whose research sources do not focus on written law but on the findings directly in the field. The data collection method in this study used direct observation and interviews, to analyze the compiler data using qualitative analysis methods. The location chosen in this study is the Province of the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Some of the impacts felt by victims of revenge porn in Yogyakarta include psychological impacts, economic losses, social isolation, limited mobility. The victim feels stressed, depressed, ostracized by the environment, even the victim thinks and tries to end his life. Some of the legal protection measures provided to victims of revenge porn in Yogyakarta include consultation and legal assistance provided by the Legal Aid Institute, psychological and psychosocial recovery provided by the Witness and Victim Protection Agency and organizations observing victims of sexual violence, as well as filing for restitution for victims of revenge porn which is sought by the Witness and Victim Protection Agency through ratification in a court decision. Legal assistance is very helpful for revenge porn who are unfamiliar with the law in dealing with the law. Although psychological and psychosocial recovery does not directly heal the victim's psyche, it can slowly restore the victim's psyche. Efforts to apply for restitution for victims of revenge porn can reduce the material losses felt by victims due to the spread of immoral content that presents themselves, even though the value of restitution has been stated in the court's decision as a strong legal basis, but in its implementation it has not been carried out properly.
