Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of speaking skills possessed by early childhood. Children can express feelings, ideas, ideas and opinions through speaking. There is a need for stimulation that can improve speaking skills ofiearly childhood,aone ofawhich isaby practicing spoken language. Thisastudy aimsato determineathe relationshipabetween oral language training andaearly childhood speaking skills at Islamic Kindergarten YLPI Marpoyan, Pekanbaru. The mixedamethod researchadesign inathis studyais sequential explanatory where the method intends to find out data based on quantitative results and to explore more deeply using qualitative data. Theapopulation inithis studyiwere allistudents of group B IslamicaKindergarten YLPI Marpoyan aged 5-6 years with a total of 44 students. Whilemthe datamcollection methodmusing observations,minterviews, documentation andmquestionnaires. Furthermore, themdata analysismmethod used triangulation andisimple lineariregression. Thearesults showathat speaking skills are very important to be stimulated and possessed by early childhood, speaking skills will affect other aspects of children's lives such as children's social emotional aspects, affect courage, and children's cognitive. Theaspeaking abilityaof childrenaaged 5-6 yearsaat theaYLPIaMarpoyan IslamiciKindergarten, totaling 44 children, has a very well developed speaking ability (BSB) as many as 42 children or 95.45%, children who Develop Accordingato Expectationsa(BSH) asimany asi2 childrenor 4.55%. The appropriate and appropriate learning strategy used in improving the speaking skills of the YLPI Marpoyan Islamic Kindergarten students is by telling stories. Oral language training activities (listening) have a relationship and affect the speaking skills of early childhood, the relationship between the influenceaof theaindependent variablea(listening) onatheadependent variablei(speaking skills) is 59.6%. Overall,iit canibe concludedithat theiresultsiofithe researchaon oral language training have a relationship with the speaking skills of young children, but itais possibleathat thereaare otherafactors thatacanaaffect the speaking skills of young children besides listening activities.
