Abstract

This study has some aims, such as 1) to determine the utilization of the gray literature collection at the library of UIN Sunan Kalijaga ; 2) to know the fulfillment of information needs at the library of UIN Sunan Kalijaga; 3) to determine the effect of using the gray literature collection on the fulfillment of information needs for the 2018 undergraduate final project at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. This study uses a quantitative method with a associative approach. The subjects in this study were the 2018 undergraduate students at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, and the object of the research was the use of gray literature collections to fulfill the information needs of the final project. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling with the number of respondents as many as 98 people. The data collection techniques used are questionnaires, observations, and documentations. The measurement of the data uses a likert scale by using 5 answer choices. The data analysis used the mean and simple linear regression. The results of the analysis of the mean data obtained that the sub-variable of the use of the gray literature collection of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Library, the grand mean value was 4.15 with a high category. In the sub-variable of meeting the information needs of the final project at the library of UIN Sunan Kalijaga, the grand mean value was 4.40 with a very high category. The result of the coefficient of determination test is 59.6%, which shows that variations on meeting the information needs of the final project can be explained by variations in the use of gray literature collections of 59.6%. Based on the results of the study, it indicates that Ha is accepted, so it can be concluded that there is a significant influence from the utilization of the gray literature collection on meeting the information needs of the final project.
