Abstract

This research is motivated by the existence of PAI learning in Biology Education which is related to the development of science and technology, almost all students have cellphones and use social media. From this phenomenon, this study aims to find out what types of content (social media) are often accessed to learn Islamic religious knowledge and to examine the relationship between learning Islamic religious knowledge through YouTube and Instagram social media together with student religiosity. This study uses a mix-method, namely qualitative and quantitative approaches. Subjects used as respondents were 95 students. The study used a sample determined by the Random Sampling technique from a total population of 238 Biology Education students. Data collection techniques used interviews and closed questionnaires. The data analysis technique used simple linear regression analysis and multiple linear regression analysis which was processed with the help of a computer program SPSS version 23 for windows. The results of this study: (1) The types of social media content on YouTube and Instagram that are often accessed by students to study Islamic religious knowledge are content that can increase their faith and knowledge of Islamic religious sciences. The YouTube social media accessed are the Al-Bahjah TV channel and the Islam Itu Indah Official channel. The Instagram accounts are @okisetianadewi and @ahilmanfauzi.YouTube and Instagram are strong enough attractions to increase interest in learning Islamic religion. YouTube and Instagram make it easier for students to find the material they want to find the truth and focus on exploring it again with famous clerics. (2) Learning Islamic religious knowledge through YouTube social media has an influence on religiosity with a correlation/relationship value (R) of 0.706, which means it is in the strong/high category because it is located between 0.70 - < 0.90. Learning Islamic religion through social media Instagram on religiosity with a correlation value (R) of 0.384, which means it is in the low category because it is located between 0.20 - < 0.40. Learning Islamic religion through social media YouTube and Instagram simultaneously (together) has a significant effect on student religiosity with a correlation/relationship value (R) of 0.593, included in the moderate/enough category because it is located between 0.40 - < 0, 70. While the remaining 64.9% is assumed to be influenced by other variables outside of this study.
