Abstract
This research is motivated by the phenomenon of potential and superior economic classification in the Ogan Komering Ilir Regency that has not been identified and utilized optimally for development. That aims to identify and analyze base/leading sectors, and future base sectors, which have specialist competitiveness and competitiveness. The type of data used is quantitative with the years 2012-2021 sourced from the Central Statistics Agency of Ogan Komering Ilir Regency and South Sumatra Province with LQ, DLQ, and Shift Share analysis tools. The results of the LQ analysis show that the sectors that have an average LQ > 1 which are included in the base/leading sector are the agriculture, forestry, and fishery sectors by 3.54 percent. And the government administration, defense, and social security sectors are required to be 1.44 percent. Meanwhile, the results of the DLQ and Shift Share analysis show that 14 sectors have the potential to become the basis in the future and also have sector competitiveness, namely agriculture, forestry, and fisheries; mining and quarrying sector; processing industry sector; water supply sector; development sector; wholesale and retail trade, and repair of cars and motorcycles; transportation and warehousing sector; the field of providing accommodation as well as food and beverages; information and communication sector; real estate sector; corporate service sector; the field of government administration, defense and mandatory social security; education services sector; and other service sectors.
