Abstract

In early childhood education requires involvement as well as from parents. Parental involvement greatly influences the development of early childhood knowledge. This involvement can be seen from how the behavior of parents in daily life accompanies children when learning in the family environment and parent communication with the school about child development in school. Knowledge of parents / guardians of students who are wrong and lack of communication between parents and teachers towards development will make the goals of early childhood education not achieved. The purpose of this study is 1) To find out the knowledge of underprivileged parents / guardians of early childhood education, 2) To find out how often underprivileged parents / guardians communicate with teachers about their children's development. This research uses descriptive qualitative research to describe the situation and events that have taken place. The study was conducted in Pandean Village, Karanganyar District, Ngawi Regency. This study chose the object of research on perceptions of underprivileged parents / guardians of early childhood education in Pandean-Ngawi Village. Sampling using purposive sampling method and analysis techniques include; Stimulation, Organitation, interpretation & Evaluation, Memory, and Recall. Research result; 1) The knowledge of underprivileged parents / guardians of early childhood education is a) Early childhood before entering primary school must be PAUD school first because with PAUD schools children can learn to read and write, b) PAUD schools require no small amount, c ) PAUD is very important for the development of children, 2) Research findings on the intensity of communication of underprivileged parents / guardians with teachers on the development of early childhood education show that parents / guardians of underprivileged students in Pandean Village are committed if the teacher invites them to come to school but if there is no invitation then they will not come.
