Abstract

The background of this research is curriculum development management is seen as a professional action. That is, in an effort to develop the curriculum required a managerial skill in terms of ability to plan, organize, manage, and control. In addition, there is often a gap between objectives and curriculum development with field implementation efforts that are inconsistent with national strategies, cultural diversity, student interests, and local potential. The objectives of this research are: (1) To know the reason for the need of management of curriculum development of PAI in perspective of multicultural education in MAN 3 Sleman, (2) To find out the concrete description of PAI curriculum development management in multicultural education perspective in MAN 3 Sleman, (3) to know and understanding the implementation of multicultural values in PAI curriculum development management in MAN 3 Sleman, and (4) Knowing the problems faced in the implementation of multicultural values in PAI curriculum development management in MAN 3 Sleman. The theory of curriculum development based on Oemar Hamalik theory, which refers to the management mindset, in the form of planning, organizing, staffing, implementation, and control or evaluation of the curriculum. The approach used in this research is philosophical approach, religious approach, educational approach, and educational psychology approach. The type of this research is qualitative research, data source through documentation and resource, data collection technique through observation, documentation, and interview. Data analysis techniques through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. And test the validity of data through credibility test of research data. The results of the research show that (1) the reason for the management of the development of multicultural PAI curriculum in MAN 3 Sleman is that PAI curriculum can be implemented well, systematically, directed and comprehensive by involving various parties in designing, organizing, implementing and evaluating PAI curriculum, 2) management of PAI curriculum development in MAN 3 Sleman is done in a comprehensive-integrative way, with reference to the diversity of learners in designing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the PAI curriculum. (3) the implementation of multicultural values in management of curriculum development of PAI in MAN 3 Sleman, that is from aspect of planning, organizing, staffing, and implementation of curriculum PAI refers to diversity and needs of learners and involve various parties in decision making, and from aspect its evaluation includes aspects of context, processes, and products and is conducted through both tests and non-tests and is conducted on an ongoing basis. (4) problematics in management of curriculum development in MAN 3 Sleman, that is factor of provision and readiness of personnel in running concept from curriculum, often teacher do not understand idea contained in curriculum, difference of vision perception and mission to be achieved, in realizing the concept or content of the curriculum
