Abstract

The background of this research is the growth of many Rumah Tahfidz in Indonesia, especially growing rapidly in Yogyakarta. But it still requires a lot of knowledge related to the implementation of tahfidz learning as well as its implications for the santri’s characters education of elementary school age and still studying on formal education. Islamic Boarding School of Tahfidh Yanbu'ul Qur'an for Children is devoted to elementary school children ranging from 6 or 7 years old, to memorize and inculcate the values of the Qur'an without putting aside formal schools. This makes the author interested in researching in Islamic Boarding School of TahfidhYanbu'ul Qur'an for Children in Kudus. This study aims to determine the implementation of tahfidz al-Qur'an learning in Islamic Boarding School of Tahfidh Yanbu'ul Qur'an for Children and its implications for the santri's characters education. This research is a qualitative research by using the educational psychology approach. The data collection techniques are using observation methods, interviews, and documentation. While the data analysis techniques are using data collection, reduction, presentation of data, and conclusions. The technique of checking the validity of data is using observation persistence, triangulation, and checking of data. The results of this study are (1) tahfidz al-Qur'an learning in Islamic boarding school of Tahfidh Yanbu'ul Qur'an for Children in Kudus have their own characteristics in applying the learning component, presented in descriptive analysis on the learning component of tahfidz al-Qur'an, that is the purposes, educators, learners, educational tools, methods and environmental education. (2) Implementation of tahfidz al-Qur'an learning is employed by planning the implementation of learning, then actualized or implemented by the teachers and management with the opening activities, core activities, and closing. After the implementation, there are monitoring or controlling and evaluation efforts monthly to know and measure the results of the learning. (3) Every educational activity in Islamic boarding school of TahfidhYanbu'ul Qur'an for Children must have implications on the character building. Implemented learning includes the character development, involving the religious, hard work, tolerance, and discipline, through the stage of moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action.
