Abstract

Research about preservation of library materials policy aims to find library materials preservation policies and identify policy constraints preservation of library materials in the Sub Division of Preservation and Cooperation Agency Library and Archives Regional in Special Region Yogyakarta. This study used a qualitative descriptive method. Methods for collecting data using interviews, observation and documentation. To analyze the data based on the theory of Miles and Huberman, that is by (1) data reduction; focusing on the themes of the research, (2) Presentation of data; explained based on observations, interviews, and documentation, and (3) Withdrawal of conclusion; concludes the analysis after analysis stage is completed. The results of this study can be concluded that the policy of preservation of library materials in Conservation and the Division of Library and Archives Cooperation Region of Yogyakarta using Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) which includes the goal, application clause, space explains the responsibilities of officers in carrying out over the media, the definition , responsible, tools and materials, process flow, achievement criteria, flow charts, references, related documents and related units. The constraints faced in the conservation policies of library materials is still a lack of human resources in conducting physical preservation and information, and a place to support conservation activities.
