Abstract
Based on the Special Library Association (SLA) standards for the competency of librarians in the field of technology, this study analyzes the librarian's suitability for utilizing library automation in the library at Muhammadiyah 1 Senior High School, Yogyakarta. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data collection by literature review and research methods (observation, interviews, documentation). The Miles & Huberman approach is used in the data analysis process, which includes data reduction, data display, inference, and validation. Additional observation, enhanced persistence, triangulation (source triangulation, technical triangulation, and time triangulation), and member check were used to assess the validity of the data. The results of this study show that the suitability of the librarians' competence in the library of Muhammadiyah 1 Senior High School, Yogyakarta is mostly in accordance with the competence in the field of technology by SLA. According to the study's findings, of the eight competencies, only two are currently insufficient, namely the fifth competency in ”Designing Interfaces for an Intuitive User Experience” and the sixth competency in “Coding Using Appropriate Scripting”.
