Abstract

This study contains the impact of village libraries in improving the quality of human resources in Balecatur Village, Gamping District, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta. This study aims to find out how the impact of the village library in improving the quality of human resources in Balecatur Village, Gamping District, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta and to find out the obstacles faced by the Balecatur Village library in improving the quality of human resources in Balecatur Village, Gamping District, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques used are data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The results of this study are that there are three aspects of the role of the Balecatur Village library, namely aspects of knowledge, skills, and increasing interest in reading. Activities carried out by the Balecatur Village library include TK & PAUD visits, Thursday schools, and a reading corner. The obstacles faced are library collections that are not up to date, people do not master information technology, limited human resources, and inadequate space. Researchers suggest the Balecatur Village library add new collections tailored to the needs of the community, conduct introductions, and training related to the use of information technology so that the Balecatur community is more advanced and can keep up with the times, increase the number of library managers with a library background as well as expand and add reading corners in the area Balecatur.
