Abstract

'Politics of literature' is not like 'politics of the author' which explains the projection of the author to see his political movement. But how literature becomes itself to interrupt the sosial order that perpetuates power. The researcher found Najīb al-Kailānī 's emancipation movement in his novel ‘Ażrā’ Jākartā' which transcends all forms of identity to place the 'part of no part' subjects again. In this discourse, Najīb al-Kailānī will discuss the politics of expression regarding the emancipation movement in his novel by shaking the police order as a literary ethic regime that always places women, and communism/counter-communism movements in a single space, role and time, so that ‘demos’ do not again heard. The research method used in this study is a qualitative descriptive research method with historical, critical, and hermeneutics reading. This reading is attempted to find the author's external historical movement that inspired the novel ‘Ażrā’ Jākartā', to criticize it carefully, and to find the meaning behind the sentence written by the author. The theory that seeks to answer the fundamental problem in this research uses the postmarxist sociological approach of Jacques Ranciere to find a cultural space that negates subjects to be heard, redistribution of 'reasonable', and the creation of a 'common space' which the author assumes to bring together ‘police’ and 'politics' in a 'dissensus' space. The negation of women and ideological movements in the novel is born in the cultural space as the standard for telling artistic works of art. Najīb's politics of expression does not only question the events of political conflict in Indonesia such as the setting in the novel, but also the projection of a universal cultural space in which women and ideological movements negate one another. The novel ‘Ażrā’ Jākartā' projects the redistribution of each subject and regenerates the subject of politics which is completely new both in the role, space and time that surrounds it. Najīb al-Kailānī was declared successful in creating 'the political' by making his novels 'political' and 'aesthetic' to interrupt the practice of ‘police’ power, put the subject back in the section, and regenerate a new political subject.
