Abstract

This study aims to determine the steps for developing Make a Match based Puzzle media in improving mathematics learning outcomes for second grade students of MIS Islamiyah Sunggal and to determine the effectiveness of Make a Match based Puzzle media in improving mathematics learning outcomes for second grade students of MIS Islamiyah Sunggal. This study uses research and development methods (Research and Development). The data collection techniques in this research are divided into two, namely quantitative data collection techniques and qualitative data collection techniques. The research instrument used validation sheets, questionnaires and scores before and after using Make a Match based Puzzles. Quantitative data analysis in this study uses statistical probability data analysis techniques with an error of 5%. Meanwhile, for x-testing in descriptive form using the Liliefors Test with the help of SPSS version 22. The results of this study note that Puzzle is declared valid. This can be seen from the results of expert validation consisting of design experts, materials experts, linguists, and learning experts who scored 94% in the "Very Decent" category. Puzzle stated practical. This was obtained from a questionnaire filled out by 26 students who scored 77.60% in the "Very Practical" category. Puzzles to improve learning outcomes are declared effective. Puzzle effectiveness got an increase in scores between before and after using Puzzle. The difference before and after using Puzzle is 21.67. The value after using Puzzle has increased by 21.67. The average score before using the puzzle was 60.00 and the average score after using the puzzle was 81.67. It can be concluded that Puzzles are effective in improving student learning outcomes
