Abstract

Sexual violence against women is a case that needs attention. Considering the impact not only on physical injuries but also on trauma and psychological disorders. The media then acts as an intermediary on how to report and inform the public about violence, especially sexual violence against women, which often makes women victims for the second time. Many studies have shown that the mass media is an effective agent to bring a discourse. So this study aims to find out how victims of sexual violence are represented in a short film entitled Asa. This research is a qualitative research using Sara Mills critical discourse analysis method. The data collection method was obtained from the results of the original video capture of the soft file type and to analyze it using the literature study method. The results show that the representation made is in accordance with what is happening around. The subject's position shows that as a victim of violence, he can control what he should get, such as a form of protection and support from people around him, especially his family. The supporting characters of the main character are described according to what victims of violence usually get.
