Abstract

One of the duties of a guidance and counseling teacher is to provide direction or assistance to students regarding career guidance. However, in this case there is a problem for students of SMKN 7 Yogyakarta related to career planning, such as experiencing confusion in determining career direction between continuing studies or work, and job vacancies that are not in accordance with student interests. So that it does not rule out the possibility of influencing student career planning. Thus, as an effort of Guidance and Counseling teachers in improving student career planning, namely carrying out career guidance using digital media. The method used in this research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and document studies. The data analysis uses interactive analysis by Miles and Huberman in the form of data reduction, presentation, and verification or drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the form of implementing career guidance at SMKN 7 Yogyakarta uses digital media in the form of whatsapp, telegram and google meet applications. The career guidance material displayed is material about further studies, material about work and material about entrepreneurship. Thus, that there are benefits of implementing career guidance through digital media on student career planning, including increasing student interest in continuing their studies, understanding information about the world of work and understanding information about entrepreneurship.
