Abstract

Research on the subsurface structure in the Mount Tambora area using the gravity method has been carried out. Research on the subsurface structure of Mount Tambora was carried out using gravity data obtained from the Topex/Poseidon satellite. The data is processed to obtain Regional Anomalies and then modeled using 2.5 D modeling. The modeling results are in the form of the subsurface structure of Mount Tambora which has 3 layers with intrusive rock at a depth of ±3 km which is in the second and third layers with a density of 2,8 gr cm-3. This can occur due to the cooling of magma below the surface to form intrusive rocks.
