Abstract

Jejak Langkah 2 Ulama is a film released in January 2020. It’s flm tell the story of two largest Islamic organizations in Indonesia, namely Muhammadiyah and Nadatul Ulama who have played a major role in the struggle for the spread of Islam during the Dutch government and also in liberating the Indonesian nation from colonial influence. Even though in the affairs of the caliphate they are different, but the two do not debate the differences in their religious sects or movements. Instead, they respect and support each other in da'wah fisabillilah. The approach used in dissecting the Jejak langkah 2 Ulama film using the semiotic approach of the Roland Barthes model is a field of study that studies the meaning or meaning of a sign or symbol. One of the important areas that Barthes explores in his study of signs is the role of the reader. This film was chosen by the author for research because this film has cultural values and a very good message. This film also reveals how the true figure of KH. Hasyim As'ari and KH. Ahmad Dahlan who has a great influence on Indonesian citizens, especially in the nation and state. Especially in the midst of the political frenzy that resulted in a gap between the two followers of the organization. So that this film can be a motivation for good citizens to participate in fighting for religion and the homeland as KH Hasyim As'ari and KH. Ahmad Dahlan did.
