Abstract
DIY Province has a growth in employment that continues to increase from year to year. The highest increase occurred in 2019, then there was a decline in 2020 where the government's policy was to enforce Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) related to COVID-19. Absorption of micro business units increased by 23.7% from 2020 compared to 2019. On the other hand, there was a decrease in small and medium business units by 11.1% and 29.1%, respectively. The purpose of this study was to determine how the influence of the provincial minimum wage (UMP), population, and investment on employment in the small and medium enterprise (SME) sector of DIY Province 1990-2020. The data analysis technique used multiple linear regression analysis and classical assumption test. The results of the study show0that: 1) The provincial0minimum wage (UMP) has0a positive0effect on employment in the small and medium enterprise (SME) sector of DIY Province 1990-2020; 2) The population has no effect0on the employment of0small and0medium enterprises (SMEs) in the DIY Province in 1990-2020; and 3) Investment0has a positive0effect on0employment in the small and medium enterprise (SME) sector of DIY Province 1990-2020.
