Abstract

This study aims to describe the meaning of a munsyid's life as a career choice in terms of Frankl's theory. The subjects in this study consisted of two people who had been in the world of nasyid for 20 years who lived in Yogyakarta. The method used in this study is a qualitative-descriptive method using a field research approach. Data collection techniques using non-participant interviews. The data analysis technique uses data triangulation. The results showed that the two research subjects were able to find the meaning of their lives in the nasyid world. That the description of the meaning of life in respondents has different interests in nasyid according to their respective points of view. However, both respondents have the same meaning in life, namely feeling the determination to choose nasyid as a career choice, living it with pleasure and gratitude. In addition, this choice is an option chosen through a process of self-knowledge and its contribution to the world of nasyid. The aspects of the meaning of life obtained from the interviews, namely: self-understanding, appreciation without meaning, discovery of meaning, self attachment and directed activities. This research contributes to the development of the branch of Islamic psychology and is also useful for munsyid in carrying out nasyid to make it more meaningful.
