Abstract

Bullying is an act of intimidation carried out by someone who is stronger against a party who is weaker than him and has an impact on the victim, the perpetrator, and those who see it. However, it is possible that bullying can also have an impact on the victim's parents, especially for the victim's mother who is the first madrasah for her child, such as affecting her work, health, or psychology, so there needs to be effective coping to solve it. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of coping strategies for mothers who have children who are victims of bullying and use a descriptive qualitative approach as well as data collection methods using observation and interviews. The research informants were two people, namely mothers who had children who were victims of bullying, which were obtained using purposive sampling technique. The results showed that the two informants had different coping strategies, some used a method by seeking the help of others to get advice and input on what to do when dealing with their problems, refraining from telling the problems of their children who were victims of bullying so as not to spread and causing other problems, there are also those who consciously accept the reality and responsibility as mothers to solve the source of the problem, namely bullying their children and make plans to solve them, and finally there are those who surrender the situation they are facing by surrendering to God, also praying for their children to become a stronger person and the perpetrator receives his own reward from God.
