Abstract

Currently the leadership of student organizations including PMII is being tested with new problems and obstacles. The current covid-19 pandemic is also one of the challenges that must be faced by PMII student organizations. Changes in the world with technological developments are also part of the challenges that must be faced by PMII student organizations. Given the challenges faced by the PMII student organization, the implementation of transformative leadership is very important. The type of research conducted is descriptive qualitative research. The research was conducted in Yogyakarta in March-July 2022. Observations, interviews, and documentation were used to obtain data. Data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing are all used in data analysis. Triangulation technique, such as source triangulation and theoretical triangulation, are used to perform data validity techniques. The research findings are as follows: first, the PMII Chair has implemented a transformative leadership style, namely in terms of Idialized Influence, the PMII chairman always invites discussions about the vision, mission and goals to every member or management of the organization, is always present in difficult situations faced by the organization and shows the value of his leadership, which is dynamic and always moving and responsible, in terms of Inspirational Motivation the chairman of PMII always instills that as a human being we must be able to benefit others. This leadership emphasizes shared collective values, in terms of Intellectual Stimulation the PMII Chair always invites and encourages members or organizational management to express his views related to the problems being faced, in terms of Individualized Consideration, PMII leaders always do contemplation or conduct self-analysis related to what has been learned. done and try as much as possible to maintain emotional stability. Second, the impact of the implementation of Transformative leadership in the Extra-Student Organization of PMII DIY, namely the creation of Movement innovations in Cadreization, Enthusiasm and Optimism of Management and Members/Cadres and More Effective Organizational Performance.
