Abstract

Efforts to improve the economy for the welfare of the people are the development of the micro, small and medium enterprises sector or MSMEs. MSMEs are a business sector that absorbs a lot of labor and has mastered the economy in Indonesia until now. This sector also has weaknesses in terms of capital, which more often access loan sharks that have high interest rates. The presence of BWM Almuna Berkah Mandiri as a cooperative legal entity and one of the MFIs appointed to provide convenience in terms of financing with the lowest interest and business assistance to MSME actors. This type of research is a field (descriptive qualitative), using a normative juridical approach based on the main legal materials by examining the theories and laws and regulations related to this research. The data collection method carried out is an interview, documentation with BWM Almuna Berkah Mandiri and its customers and economic law literature. The results of this study show that the role of BWM Almuna Berkah Mandiri in an effort to improve the economic welfare of the people is to increase the productivity of the MSME community, foster and develop MSME products and ease of access to financing. In this case, the role of BWM Almuna Berkah Mandiri remains consistent in terms of any conditions and in accordance with applicable legal principles and objectives.
