Abstract

In Indonesia, the spread of the Covid-19 virus is rampant. As a result, all government agencies must take precautions, which the government is taking in the field of education by issuing a circular on the implementation of the learning process in schools online. For this reason, the purpose of this study is to describe the obstacles and solutions as well as the shortcomings of the online communication process in online learning at SMK N 1 Magelang during the pandemic. The type of qualitative description research, the research subjects of the Head of the Electrical Department and 2 teachers majoring in Electricity, as well as 3 students majoring in electricity at SMK Negeri 1 Magelang. Data collection techniques are carried out by interviews, observations, and documentation. The results showed external constraints in the form of lack of infrastructure tools and materials to carry out the online learning process and there were psychological barriers felt by students that affected communication during online learning. The right solution is for teachers to develop strategies during online learning so that students are not easily bored and the government can share internet data quotas for students every month. The rest of this online learning is that teachers and students are more shrewd in using computers, students learn to do research independently, and can add insight. The weakness is that the direct interaction between teachers and students is not good and the students lack fokus on learning.
