Abstract
Cases of the COVID-19 pandemic are occurring in various parts of the world today. Travel regulations in various modes of transportation require people to use various health tests such as Swab tests, Rapid tests, or PCR tests. The Polymerase Chain Reaction Policy or what can be called the PCR test is one of the most highlighted. The role of Luhut Binsar Panjaitan as Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Chair of PPKM is considered vulnerable to abuse. This study aims to analyze how detik.com as the oldest online media in Indonesia constructs Luhut Binsar Panjaitan's involvement in the PCR test business in the period 1-15 November 2021. This research approach uses a qualitative descriptive approach that is specific to text analysis. The researcher uses framing analysis theory with Zhondang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki method to see how detik.com media constructs the news into a social reality. Based on the results of the study by taking 5 news stories, after being researched through syntax, scripts, thematics and rhetoric, it seems detik.com gives its own opinion on how to construct or frame the involvement of Luhut Binsar Panjaitan for the period 1-15 November 2021, but news about the Covid-19 pandemic.
