Abstract

Religious moderation is only often related to the external domain of religion, namely the relationship between fellow religious people which is more colored by the scope of morality, while religious moderation internally escapes of discussion. Whereas, extremism and even radicalism are also experienced between the internal religion itself, which in this case is Islam. The homogenity of existing beliefs is allegedly an indication of a fertile place for the growth of religious intolerance because of not accustomed to see the differences so that personal sentiments will be high diversified. This background encourages researchers to explore the concept of education with a culture of religious moderation as a contemporary discourse, as well as the practice of implementing and achieving the implementation of Islamic Religious Education with a religious culture moderation at MI Ma’had Islamy through social paradigms. The type of the study is filed research by using descriptive research methods with qualitative approach. The research data sources are people, places and papers.This reasearch used purposive and snowball sampling techniques. The data collection techniques applied observation, interviews and documentation with scientific data analysis techniques that are returned to the theoritical framework of Alvib W. Gouldner’s reciprocity theory and Brofenbrenner’s Ecological Habituation. The methodological data analysis techniques used Miles and Huberman and Saldana’s research techniques with data condensation, data presentation and conclusion stages. The last stage checked the data validity using source triangualtion, theory and transfermability. The result of this study stated that:1) Religious moderation values contained in Islamic religious Education (PAI) subject of first and second grade in 2020 are tolerance, alertness, development and inovation, similarity, mutual help, moderation, and equality. 2) The implementation strategy of religious moderation values in PAI leraning in the classroom applied holistic-moderate learning habituated by the principles of a PBL-based curriculum ecosystem which is implemented using 7 M cycles and is carried out on the basis of reciprocal relationship berween schools and students or collaboration between school with parents to students. Meanwhile, the implementation strategy of religious moderation value outside the classroom was divided into two categories, namely general and specific programs. This general program includes 19 activities, while the specific program is outlined in the Individual Growth Map program. 3). The implementation achievements of cultural values of religious moderation were known through two aspects, namely a) the program implementation with a social approach witha reciprocal nuance and ecological habituation. b) the student achievement of attitudes as a manifestation of the religious moderation values outside the classroom.
