Abstract

Korean drama series has become a popular show which preferred by almost all people around the world. Not only entertaining, Korean drama series also contain moral values that can be applied in daily life, one of them is ikhtiar. This research is a qualitative research by using semiotics analysis by Roland Barthes to reveal the representation of ikhtiar in Korean drama series “Start-Up” that analysized by the researcher by using the theory of representation by Stuart Hall in some episode that been determined. The result from this research shows that in there is a representation of ikhtiar in Korean drama series “Start-Up”, which is hard working and optimism, also never give up with the indicator never give up in any situation, revive, and stay sTabel.
