Abstract

Drugs are substances that when they enter the body will affect the body, especially the central nervous system so that if misused it will cause physical, psychic or mental disorders and social functions. In addition, Abused drugs will damage the nervous system for its users , resulting in changes in the behavior and character of a person. Therefore, it is necessary to have proper treatment for addicts. One of the right treatments is with therapeutic community as a therapy for a drug addict.The purpose of this study is to find out how the stages used in community therapeutic in the recovery process of drug addicts. This type of research is descriptive qualitative with methods of taking observational data, interviews and documentation. The subjects in this study were the person in charge of rehabilitation, rehabilitation therapists and drug addicts who were undergoing rehabilitation at Jogja Care House.The results of this study show that in therapeutic community there are four stages in the recovery process for drug addicts, while these stages are the induction stage, the entry unit stage, the primary stage and the re-entry stage.
