Abstract

This research is aimed to analyze the effect of intellectual capital (human capital, structural capital, capital employed and relational capital) and financial performance (earning volatility, dividend payout ratio and return on asset) on stock price volatility. This research uses quantitative approach and panel data regression analysis. The selection of research data samples used a purposive sampling method with criteria set by the researcher resulting in 37 mining companies from 2014 – 2021. The results of this study indicate that human capital, structural capital and capital employed have no effect on stock price volatility. Rational capital shows a positive significant effect on stock price volatility. The results of the next variables, namely earning volatility and return on asset show a positive significant effect on stock price volatility. The result of dividend payout ratio variable shows that this variable has no effect on stock price volatility. The recommendation for further research is to limit the research object that only companies with a good financial performance can become a research sample, using other financial performance ratio to examine their effect on stock price volatility and using other variables that might affect stock price volatility such as the company’s stock trading volume, etc.
