Abstract

Self-confidence for football players is needed to support the success of players in competing. There are many factors that influence this confidence. This study aims to determine the correlation between emotional maturity and social support with self-confidence in youth football school students in DIY. This approach and type of research is correlational quantitative research. The cluster random sampling technique was carried out on a population of 2150 people, resulting in 356 subjects with age criteria of 12-16 years. The methods of collecting the data included a Self-Confidence Scale, an Emotional Maturity Scale, and a Social Support Scale. The results show the following: 1) there was a significant correlation between emotional maturity and social support with someone’s level of self-confidence; a significant of 0,000 (p<0,05) with an effective contribution of 59% in self-confidence, 2) there was a positive correlation between emotional maturity with someone’s level of self-confidence; there was an effective contribution of 54,1% in self-confidence, 3) there was a positive correlation between social support with someone’s level of self-confidence, with an effective contribution of 4,9% in self-confidence.
