Abstract

The development of social media at this time makes cases of cyberbullying more and more happening in various circles. Cyberbullying behavior is influenced by several factors, including self-control and loneliness. This study aims to determine the relationship between self-control and loneliness with cyberbullying behavior in social medicine in adolescents. The subject of this research involved 100 teenagers in Klaten who are active on social media. The method used in this research is quantitative correlation using the Cyberbullying Scale, the Self-Control Scale and the Loneliness Scale. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. The data analysis technique used was multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS version 25. The results of the regression analysis showed a significant value F (2;97) = 20.761;p <0.001; R2 = 0.188. Based on these results, it shows that self-control and loneliness contribute to cyberbullying by 18%, while the remaining 82% are influenced by other variables or variables not examined. This shows that there is a significant relationship between self-control and loneliness with cyberbullying behavior so that the major hypothesis of this study is accepted. Then the results of the analysis on each predictor show that there is a significant negative relationship between self-control and cyberbullying so that the first minor hypothesis is accepted and there is a significant positive relationship between loneliness and cyberbullying so that the second minor hypothesis is accepted.
