Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of "ESPEROSE" Group Communication on deviant behavior in students of SMP Negeri 2 Sewon. Deviant behavior among teenagers is a social problem that often occurs around us. Especially teenagers who are still in junior high school, in this phase they are in an unstable condition in taking a stance so they are easily influenced. The case of brawls between students in 2021 which involved SMP N 2 Sewon was the main topic. This happens because of mutual bullying on social media, that kind of rash attitude can ultimately harm themselves. Most of them do deviant behavior in groups, because in groups they feel superior and brave in doing anything. This study used quantitative methods and groupthink theory. Collected data used a survey method in the form of distributing questionnaires to 72 respondents from class IX students consisting of 8 classes, used cluster sampling technique. Based on a simple linear regression test used SPSS Version 24, the effect of group communication was 15.1%, while 84.9% was caused by other factors. Also obtained a significance value of 0.001<0.05 so it can be concluded that HO is rejected and H1 is accepted.
