Abstract

Pregnancy related anxiety is a distinctive anxiety experienced by pregnant women. This particular anxiety is caused by fear and worries during pregnancy. This study aims to examine the relationship between akidah (religious belief) and pregnancy-related anxiety. 71 pregnant women from 5 districts in Malang are the participants of this study. The scale that used in this study is the Akidah Scale that containing 4 aspects: ilihiyat, nubuwwah, sam’iyyat, and ruhaniyat,; and Pregnancy-Related Anxiety Scales that contains 8 aspects: childbirth and body image concerns, attitudes towards childbirth, worry about motherhood, Acceptance of pregnancy, anxiety indicators, attitudes towards medical staff, avoidance, and baby concerns and sociodemographic survey. The hypothesis of this study is that there is a relationship between akidah and pregnancy-related anxiety. This study uses quantitative methods with correlational approach. Multiple linear regression with stepwise technique was carried out to examine the effect of akedah and other categorical variables on pregnancy-related anxiety. Results show there is a negative relationship between akidah (t =−2.58;
