Abstract

Every early adult woman definitely wants to be able to carry out her developmental tasks and obligations properly. In fact, some women in their early adulthood experience various difficulties, one of which is constrained by physical health such as lupus which hinders the process of carrying out their developmental tasks. Even more so in the conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic which can have an impact on the physical, socio-economic and psychological. These problems can trigger stress in lupus survivors. This study aims to describe the coping strategies used by lupus survivors in early adulthood during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research method uses a qualitative approach to phenomenological studies. In this study the authors specifically raised the theme of stress coping strategies. In this study using a semi-structured interview method. This study used 4 female informants who were survivors of lupus in early adulthood, where the sampling used the snowball sampling technique. Results showed 1) The stress experienced by the informants stemed from various problems according to the role played; 2) Coping strategies used by lupus survivors are problem focus coping and emotional focus coping; 3) Factors influencing coping strategies for lupus survivors include duration of illness, physical health, problem-solving skills, positive beliefs, social skills, social support, financial and religiousity. The were life lessons and lessons from the illness or other problems experienced by each informant, such as getting closer and being more grateful to Allah SWT.
