Abstract

This research is aimed to (1) Produce science book based on local wisdom for SMPN 1 Imogiri (2) To know the quality of a science books based on local wisdom for SMPN 1 Imogiri, and (3) To find out student responses to science books based on local wisdom for junior high school students/MTs. The problem in this research include the revised 2013 curriculum that encourages students to know culture in the learning process, the not yet maximal science learning associated with culture, and the lack of science teaching materials associaed with culture. This research is called the Research and Development or R&D. This development research procedure uses a 4-D model, which is (1) Define, (2) Design, (3) Develop, and (4) Disseminate. This research is limited to the develop stage, which is limited testing. The research instruments used were instrument and product validation sheets, assessment sheets, and student response sheets. The quality assessment of the science teaching materials there is science books based on local wisdom in keris Bantul making using Likert Scale with four (4) scale and students responses using Guttman Scale in Checklist form. This research was conducted at SMPN 1 Imogiri using 6 student responses in the 9th grade. In the research at SMPN 1 Imogiri there was also an interview process with science teachers to identify the characteristics of the learning process and students. In the data analysis technique to determine the quality of textbooks, the criteria include SB (Very Good/Sangat Baik) for score 4, B (Good/Baik) for score 3, TB (Not Good/Tidak Baik) for score 2, STB (Very Bad/Sangat Tidak Baik) for score 1. As for data analysis of student responses carried out with the criteria of Agree (S) and Disagree (TS). This development research uses the integration of the webbed type by determining the theme first, there is making a keris. The results of this research is the science book based on local wisdom Bantul keris making. The quality of science books based on the results of the assesssment from matrial experts, media experts, and science teachers has a very good category (SB) with a mean score of 3.30, 4.00, and 3.71, while the student responses in the limited test obtained the agree category (S) with a mean score of 0.99.
