Abstract
This research contributes to developing theoretical studies in understanding the mental health coaching program that is being pursued by the Al-Ikhlas Subang Taklim Council as a promotive and preventive method of mental health issues during the Covid-19 wave. Starting from the results of the PDSKJI self-examination which showed that 69% of 2364 respondents had psychological problems, what should be paid attention to from the Covid-19 pandemic is not only physical health, but also mental health. The Taklim Council is a forum that has a strategic role to increase understanding, appreciation and learning experience of Islam as stated in Law no. 20 of 2003. Along with that, the results of pre-study observations revealed that the lectures delivered at the Taklim Assembly meeting also discussed matters related to mental health from an Islamic perspective. In addition, Majelis Taklim has become a medium that has geographical attachment for the congregation in the midst of limited mobility due to the pandemic. So this research has two problem formulations. First, how to adjust the implementation of the MT Al-Ikhlas program in general during the Covid-19 wave. Second, what are the efforts of MT. Al-Ikhlas in helping to strengthen the mentality of the congregation during the pandemic and the extent to which the congregation has benefited from these efforts. The purpose of the research is to find out the adjustment of the implementation of the MT Al-Ikhlas program in general during the Covid-19 wave and explain MT's efforts. Al-Ikhlas in helping to strengthen the mentality of the congregation and the benefits felt by the congregation for these efforts. The analytical knife used is the concept of Zakiah Daradjat's mental development to dissect mental health development. This study uses a descriptive analytical qualitative research method. Data were collected from observations, semi-structured interviews and documentation studies. Data analysis was carried out based on the steps described by John W. Creswell. The data obtained were analyzed using the theory of rebuilding Zakiah Darajat. In addition to showing that there are adjustments made by MT. Al-Ikhlas Subang in implementing the program, it turns out that in the whole program there is implicit mental strengthening from the practice of individual worship and social worship. Furthermore, efforts to strengthen the mentality of the congregation are sought by venting as a mental consultation with a religious approach, discussion guidance as well as lectures tailored to the needs of the congregation. That way, this research can fill in the gaps in discourse related to the impact of the pandemic, mental health and the role of the Majelis Taklim in strengthening and mental development on the basis of public education.
