Abstract
The use of gadgets in early childhood continues to increase every year, with increasing gadget users in early childhood also increasing the intensity and time of using gadgets in children. Using gadgets for a long time will have a positive impact if clear directions and guidance are given. Therefore parenting is needed that is appropriate to the times. Parenting in the digital era is known as digital parenting. The application of good digital parenting in early childhood is needed to optimize the growth and development of children in the digital era. This underlies researchers to conduct further research on how to implement digital parenting in early childhood in Palembang City. This study aims to describe the forms of digital parenting in early childhood, how digital parenting influences children's behavior, and the implications of digital parenting on children's literacy. The method used in this study uses a quantitative approach with the survei method. The population in this study was 237 respondents and a sample of 100 parents who had early childhood who were in the city of Palembang. Data collection method by distributing questionnaires via a google form. Data analysis used descriptive quantitative analysis. The results showed that the application of digital parenting to early childhood in Palembang City was 51%, indicating that the implementation of digital parenting in early childhood was in a suitable category. Moreover, digital parenting affects children's behavior by 40.5%, also in the excellent category, while the implications of digital parenting for children's literacy are 41% in the excellent category. This shows that the application of digital parenting in early childhood in Palembang City is not optimal because parents still need to implement digital parenting in early childhood adequately.
